Sensata Technologies, Inc. Buyer in Attleboro, Massachusetts

In this position you will play a key role in the Mechanization departments ability to build and deliver equipment to our customers. This individual will be responsible for sending out RFQs, supplier selection, and PO placement for a wide assortment of purchased off the shelf components or custom fabricated parts and assemblies.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Research, select and purchase quality products and materials.

  • Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing.

  • Process requisitions and update management on status of orders.

  • Update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels.

  • Arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery.

  • Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.

  • Coordinate with inventory, management, and stockroom as required.

  • Assess quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management.

  • Coordinate outside processing for in process and completed machined components.

  • Provide feedback to internal customers relating to their orders, delivery dates, and potential delays.

  • Monitor and conduct follow ups on purchase orders to maintain on time delivery.

Job Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or relevant experience.

  • Ability to prioritize and follow through on multiple tasks/projects.

  • Must be self-motivated, positive, and energetic.

  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint).

  • Basic APICS, APS, CIPS or relevant professional certification preferred.

  • Experience with Oracle preferred.

  • Knowledge of machining and fabrication methods preferred.

  • Ability to work in a cross functional team/ open cubicle environment.

  • Critical thinking and negotiation skills.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Occasional domestic and/or international travel.
