The Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for the technical product throughout product and design life cycle.


General Responsibilities

  • Leads the development of our products for new and existing customers

  • Moderates the efficient and effective planning and organization of the activities to timely deliver product or design with highest quality

  • Translate customer requirements to the product test strategy and oversee design and product validation programs

  • Supervises involvement in projects and problem solving outside of own direct area

  • Identifies the next generation of growth opportunities and support the smooth integration of new product developments and plan the roll-out of new technology

  • Provide continuous coaching and development of team

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree and 5-7 years of experience

  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members

  • Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers


It is the role of the Supplier Quality Team Leader to direct, coach and manage the dedicated team of Supplier Quality Engineers in New Product Development and Serial Production phases.

The role will involve managing the development and implementation of Supplier Quality related initiatives through high-level compliance and conformity management, required process improvements, the application of Core Quality Tools and techniques, in order to support and fulfil the requirements of internal and external customers.

Ensuring local adherence to Global Quality objectives and corporate requirements is part of the profile.

It is the expectation that new products will achieve the highest grade of series-production readiness, meeting the specific program Customer and Sensata time schedules.

Coaching, developing and auditing (VDA 6.3) of SENSATA´s preferred global suppliers, will also serve SENSATA´s Excellence expectation in Quality, Delivery and Cost.

Key Position Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all Smart & Connect Supplier Quality engineering activities to achieve internal and external customer’s requirements; establish, meet and track all departmental objectives by leading, allocating and developing team resources.

  • Manage department performance by reviewing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), while checking work, tracking progress, enforcing company policy, training and motivating employees.

  • Champion individual and team efforts and aid in the development of professionals, to achieve individual leadership/accountability to company goals and objectives.

  • Build and communicate action plans, manage them actively and establishes a routine reporting structure within the organization at all levels.

  • Supports the team in correct application of the Sensata Supplier Selection Process, working with Procurement to select and develop suppliers through regular assessment and plant visitations. Lead and/or participate in proactive and early involvement initiatives.

  • Respect the fundamentals of APQP to ensure the flawless launch of new products.

  • Ensure permanent supplier efficiency analysis through monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) reviews, in conjunction with the Supplier Quality Manager Europe. Support, develop, implement and close loop on supplier improvement plans.

  • Initiate supplier-related problem solving by 8D's, to address non-conformance, delivery problems, warranty cases and/or other performance issues as necessary; drive containment activities, communicate with the relevant internal/external contacts and ensure timely closure and effectiveness.

  • Support processing and disposition of supplier non-conformances and initiate supplier charge backs to recover costs associated with poor supplier performance.

  • Conduct supplier manufacturing capability assessments as appropriate and develop action plans to close gaps.

  • Assess planned implementation progress at supplier sites and develop the appropriate countermeasures to close gaps.

  • Support of Continuous Improvement activities within the supply chain.

  • Develop and share Best Practices within the organisation.

PERSONAL skills & knowledge:

  • Excellent in verbal and written communication. Clearly conveying and receiving messages to meet the needs of all, incl. supplier interfacing. Fluent in English.

  • Great technical knowledge (example: Electronics, Machining, Injection Molding, etc.), also in Manufacturing, Maintenance and Logistic.

  • Capable to perform/ build professional audits (VDA 6.3 or similar) and reports.

  • Working knowledge of the core quality tools.

  • Able to collect and analyse data. Familiar with SPC.

  • Result oriented. Positive thinking behaviour, team player

  • Excellent problem-solving skills. Able to break down a big problem into small pieces and helping to fix it.

  • Prepared to discuss and to present in front of the customer.

Additional Essential Criteria:

  • Must have 3+ years of experience in handling non-conforming parts and analysing corrective actions: 8D; 5 Why; Look Across.

  • Extensive knowledge of the Core Quality Tools, 8D, 5 Why´s, LEAN manufacturing, Pareto data analysis, etc.

Desirable Criteria:

  • 3+ years of experience in auditing (VDA 6.3 and/or ISO 9001/ IATF 16949).


  • Valid car driving licence

  • Flexibility and ability to travel WORLDWIDE (up to 20% of work time).
