The HVOR Platform Team is a cross-functional Team charged with developing core platform features and functions for a cross section of our cutting-edge products with the aim of promoting standardisation and modularisation across our product range. The Platform Team has domain knowledge of key technologies and architectures that underpin some of our leading gateway products and provides support to numerous internal Teams to help deliver multiple projects.

Sensata Technologies is recruiting a Senior Systems Verification Engineer to lead test and verification development for the systems and products in our TPMS and Electrification growth initiative within the Sensata HVOR organisation. The Senior Systems Verification Engineer designs and performs various tests and analysis that would best test Sensata product in order to assure that the product meets applicable specifications.

As a Senior Systems Verification Engineer, you will work within the Platform Team to test and verify functionalities of multiple applications and help deliver unique system solutions which provide high value to our end customers. You will have an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology which offers a unique challenge in achieving optimal hardware and algorithm performance from resource-constrained devices.

The selected candidate will join a highly motivated and growing team within an expanding business unit at Sensata charged with meeting the growing and exciting demands of our leading customers.

General Responsibilities

  • Leads the design, develoment, and implementation of cost-effective methods through testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment for all phases of product development and manufacturing

  • Leads the testing of diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products

  • Coordinates the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices

  • Ensure that programs are in compliance with standards for good laboratory practices good manufacturing practices and/or good clinical practices

  • Responsible for setting the parameters and testing customer samples

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree and 4-6 years of experience (i.e. Bachelors degree) or a graduate degree and 2-4 years of experience (i.e. Masters degree) or a higher level degree and 0-2 years of experience (i.e. Doctorate degree)

  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

Responsibilities include:

  • Development of Systems Verification Test Plans for each iteration of Software intended for Customer Release

  • Development of automated test framework, using Vector CANoe and Vector vTestStudio

  • Development of test environments specific to each OEM’s vehicle platform

  • Execution of Test Cases on target hardware, both as HIL Tests and also on-vehicle

  • Recording, analysis, and communication of test results

  • Authoring of Test Reports and communication with project stakeholder group

  • Authoring Problem Reports documenting product failures observed via testing

  • Liaising with customers and internal departments in support of project activities

  • Working according to all agreed team procedures, including ASPICE and Agile/Scrum methods

  • Coaching and mentoring of other Systems Verification Engineers

  • Development of Continuous Improvement Projects to better the efficiency or quality of Systems Verification work

  • Co-ordinating CI project work of more junior colleagues.

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience in a Senior Verification Engineering Role.

  • Proven experience developing Automated Test Systems comprising a range of Test equipment.

  • Experience in development of automation tests using automation test frameworks such as Vector vTest or National Instruments Test Stand including - National Instruments HW and SW e.g. Test Stand, Labview, Python or other coding language

  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands.

  • Proven ability to collate, analyse and report on large data sets.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and proactively in a cross-functional team and deliver results.

Desired Criteria:

  • Automotive CAN Bus experience and use of Vector CAN tools such as CANoe and CANdela Studio.

  • Scripting experience with languages such as CAPL, Python, etc.

  • Experience developing products/systems via processes compliant with ASPICE

  • Experience testing of Wireless Protocols.

  • Experience in the use of JIRA, JAMA or other Agile and Requirements Management Tools.
