The Head of Engineering & Product Innovation leads the engineering team to deliver product functionality through a mix of development competencies and helps the team achieve and surpass departmental goals. The role provides technical guidance and direction for all site development activities.

General Responsibilities

  • Lead and manager the aftermarket Engineering Team

  • Define , meet and measure the departments metrics & KPI's

  • Department staffing, resources and planning

  • Technical support for other departments and customers

  • New product development assessment and costing

  • Research and manager partners when outsourcing development

  • Regular reporting of progress against roadmap targets, metrics & KPI's

  • Approve technical specifications and designs

  • Engage in cost reduction initiatives

  • Support the development of new market/product sizing, growth pattern and pricing.

  • Optimize existing strategies and develop new ones

  • Support business and contractual negotiations with partners.

  • Maintain and improve market models, trends & segmentation.

  • Contribute to the overall team/department strategy.

  • Responsible for design and design guidelines for the specific products

  • Keep abreast of the latest innovations and developments

  • Ensure compliance at all times with company and statutory requirements

  • Produce highest standard of work in accordance with company's TS16949, OHSAS 18001, ISO14001, IIP, Sarbanes Oxley, Lean/6s standards.

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree and 7-10 years of experience

  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members

  • Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

  • Must be aware of the technological trends and relevant technologies in the market, connecting with other product families and external partners, broadening the view of possibilities for development.

  • Attention to the production chain, logistics, quality metrics and cost targets (of product and development) are crucial elements to ensure excellence in all deliverables.

  • Existing technologies within the aftermarket or the organization to new geographies or ventures is an essential part of the role.

  • Managing the department’s staffing, resources, mentoring, and maintaining a best-in-class engineering department, as well as hands-on resource and project management.

  • Engaging with other departments, such as sales and marketing, and customers to assess new opportunities, product possibilities and holds key growths initiatives to capture new markets or expand market share

  • Responsible for improving the company’s operational performance, keeping an eye on other companies’ potential, and initiating or maintaining contacts with potential customers or partners.

  • Maintaining and improving the market analysis and assumptions, price and cost trends, and customer segmentation goes alongside the role, allowing the manager to translate these market trends into product roadmap definition
