The Employee Communications Manager develops and implements strategies and programs to communicate the company’s business objectives, culture and values to its employees.

General Responsibilities

  • Partners with internal/external contacts to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate strategic internal communications

  • Designs, edits and oversees distribution of internal communication materials via company newsletters, intranet, emails/memos, webcasts, employee meetings, etc.

  • Develops standards and guidelines for style and content

  • Provides guidance to internal partners & leadership regarding corporate announcements. Evaluates fit with target audience to ensure comprehension

  • Implements metrics to evaluate effectiveness of communication plan delivery

  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree and 7-10 years of experience

  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members

  • Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

Be part of the communications team that is changing the way Sensata informs and engages its 20,000 employees globally

Reporting directly to the Head of Corporate Communications, you will develop and execute strategic communication plans, focused equally on internal and external communications to all of Sensata’s stakeholders employees, media, and customers.

You will serve as a trusted partner and strategic advisor to senior business leaders across the Company, and will lead a wide-variety of internal and external communications programs, including:

Internal

  • Manage internal communications across Europe. Conceptualize internal communications strategy and work closely with network of site, business and functional leaders globally to align internal communications execution across Sensata’s European locations (UK, Netherlands, France, Bulgaria).

  • Support senior business leaders across our Automotive, Sensing Solutions and Supply Chain communicate their overall vision, business strategy, organizational changes, accomplishments, thought leadership, etc.

  • Develop, write and edit Intranet articles, corporate presentations, talking points, blogs, Q&A, memos and other corporate collateral, as appropriate.

  • Develop strategy for delivering creative messages through visual communications, video and other rich content, and work with global team to execute.

  • Collaborate with global social media and digital team to develop relevant content for external social media channels and execution of internal communications initiatives.

  • Serve as a member of the editorial team to help plan communications, providing recommendations for timing and channel for content.

  • Coordinate and execute messaging and logistics for events (in-person and virtual).

External

  • Working closely with global Corporate Communication team develop content strategy conceptualize external communications strategy to build Sensata’s brand and reputation with business press and technology trades.

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with key journalists, bloggers and influencers.

  • Ensure factually accurate representation of Sensata in the European press.

  • Manage reputational issues with internal stakeholders and members of the media.

  • Defining, measuring and reporting success and learnings for the Corporate Communications team.

  • Manage complex, fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges with high judgment and professionalism.

  • Create processes, mechanisms and playbooks to ensure efficiency in handling reactive PR issues across the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of experience in internal, external or executive communications

  • Excellent writing skills and proven ability to craft highly impactful copy.

  • Strong judgment and the ability to respond quickly, yet thoughtfully to urgent PR matters.

  • Has strong organizational, project management and multitasking skills

  • Ability to juggle, prioritize and balance competing goals, projects and personalities

  • Experience interacting with executive leadership.

  • Ability to have fun, work hard and maintain positive energy
