Sensata Technologies, Inc. Supplier Quality Engineer in Aguascalientes, Mexico

Lead and resolve component related quality issues, support daily supplier management activities, including new supplier phase in, new component qualification, suppliers’ performance management, and escalation and supplier disengagement.

Responsibilities

Prompt reaction on daily component related quality issues, take quick containment actions, and provide commodity knowledge for MRB disposition and quality risks assessment.

Notify suppliers quality issues, drive supplier 8D report, verify and assure suppliers’ effective containment action, root cause analysis, and corrective actions/preventive actions.

Perform on-site process audit at supplier side to verify suppliers’ CAs, evaluate suppliers’ quality system and process capabilities for potential suppliers’ identification and risk assessment.

Lead new components qualification plan and implementation according to Sensata supplier management process.

Communicate with suppliers on their quality performance, perform Supplier Quality Improvement Plan, drive suppliers’ continuous improvements on events, PPM reduction, response, process capability, top failures reduction, and quality system improvement, etc.

Support global New Product Development, local Best Cost Sourcing activities for supplier selection, qualification, components qualification, and supplier capacity verification.

Upload and maintain the completion and accuracy of supplier management database TrackWise.

Communication and alignment with other Sensata Operations Sites for shared suppliers’ performance.

  • Have a minimum 3 years of Process and /or Manufacturing Engineering Experience, but I prefer more than 5 years of processing experience

  • Preferred Commodities of Process / Manufacturing Engineering Experience: Electronics, Machining, Metal Stamping, Plastic Molding

  • Strong knowledge of Problem Solving capabilities (prefer the capability to complete 8D format)

  • Strong knowledge of PFMEA

  • Strong knowledge of Control Plan

  • Strong knowledge of Capability Studies

  • Strong knowledge of the Quality Tools (Fishbone Diagrams, Run Charts, Pareto Charts, Flowcharts, Scatter Diagram, Check Sheets, and 5 Whys)

  • Strong knowledge of Standardize Work

  • Strong knowledge of GD&T

  • Strong knowledge of Mistake Proofing / Poka Yoke methodology and practices

  • Knowledge on MSA (measurement system analysis)

  • Knowledge of Capability Studies

  • Knowledge of with PDCA and Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC)

  • Knowledge 5S Methodology and Practices

  • Knowledge of Lean Practices (prefer someone that worked a Process Engineer in Lean Manufacturing environment)

  • Knowledge of Kaizen (someone that has led or participated in Continuous Improvement Projects)
