Sensata Technologies, Inc. Stamping Commodity Buyer in Aguascalientes, Mexico

Supply Chain professional responsible of managing procurement of stamping components . Direct negotiation with suppliers of delivery, quality and cost performance to satisfy our different business requirements. Administrate relationship with supply base.

  • Request for quotation new component and component re-sourcing requirements. Identify supply alternatives among existing supply base or scout for potential new sources

  • Negotiate with suppliers purchasing agreement terms: capacity, quality, cost, lead times, logistic, payment terms.

  • Select and qualify suppliers based on their performance or demonstrated capabilities to timely deliver, good quality parts within agreed cost parameters

  • Identify and quantify Cost Reduction opportunities from the existing and projected spend in the Commodity

  • Assist in definition and implementation of Commodity strategy.

  • Monitor supplier performance on Production Capacity, On Time Delivery, Quality and Cost.

  • Knowledge and follow up on End Of Life Tooling and tool replacement.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in administration, engineering or supply chain related areas.

  • 5+ years experience in procurement (Molding processes) as well as the automotive industry.

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)

  • Strong negotiation skills.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Strong knowledge of molding processes.

  • Strong collaboration, communication, and influencing skills.

  • Eager to embrace and lead change.

  • Works well with others and can lead internal stakeholders and suppliers to deliver results.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP software experience required.

  • Excellent communication and organization skills.

  • Must be able to work autonomously, motivated self-starter with strong organization skills, and the ability to multi-task.

  • Demonstrated team player with strong communication and collaboration skills with ability to influence without formal authority.

  • Understand and help develop sourcing strategies for the Molding commodity.

  • Responsible for driving productivity and cost reduction for the company

  • Proactively manage molding commodity by tracking spend by vendor and developing preferred supplier analysis, with a goal of optimizing the number of suppliers while maximizing year over year savings.

  • Drive process efficiencies and eliminate non-value-added activities.

  • Ensure supplier compliance to company’s policies as well as terms and conditions

  • Manage supplier performance against key metrics to drive continuous improvement.

  • Drive increased certified diverse supplier spend in contracts.

  • Demonstrative skills in procurement activities, negotiation skills, and a general understanding of procurement and contract management law.

  • Knowledge of ISO Quality standards AIAG, MIL specifications, etc. a plus.

  • Enthusiastic with the willingness to learn and share ideas.

Additional Details:

  • Eventual national and international travel required

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
