Sensata Technologies, Inc. Project Engineer in Aguascalientes, Mexico

Execute new product development project by working with related site and global teams


  • Manage new product project from manufacturing view. Ensure all processes of product development project run properly within the scheduled time line. Accountable to the management review/APQP process and ensure projects fall within scope of product plan guidelines.

  • Eliminate barriers to progress within/outside team.

  • Head the decision making process to set pace, encourage input, deal with conflict ambiguity.

  • Work with cross functions to ensure right processes are in place to meet customer needs fully and quickly. Remove barriers to integration across functional perspectives.

  • Develop meaningful measures and report progress against them.

  • Support the design of new fixtures and the optimization devices.


General Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to Program Managers (PMT) during change Management execution.

  • Participate in the development of new production processes and/or adapt existing production processes.

  • Teamwork with DE & PE areas to provide support on production equipment definition and interact with mechanization team (in house) and/or equipment suppliers to ensure equipment will meet specifications

  • Participate in global new product development project teams (APQP)

  • Collaborate with other departments on process specifications, quality aspects, and product specifications. (WI's).

  • Influence product designs during new product development phase to ensure economical and defect free manufacture

  • Support on development of manufacturing and testing processes.

  • Responsible for sample builds.

  • Transferring knowledge to make site personnel.

  • Support improvement projects to reduce cycle time, defects and manufacturing costs

  • Work with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure processes are capable, have sufficient controls in place and meet financial targets.

Experience / Qualifications

  • A college degree and 0-2 years of experience (i.e. Bachelors degree)

  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).

  • Statistical knowledge. (6 sigma methodology, MiniTab software).

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
