Sensata Technologies, Inc. Engineering Technician in Aguascalientes, Mexico
The Engineer Technician collaborates with a local team or global engineering team on product design which satisfy customer specifications. Key participant in supporting NBO/NPD Design projects. This process includes design, product validation, completing documentation and executing launch items for production.

General Responsibilities:
Assist in new product design development and design upgrades to existing products
Perform engineering tests (electrical, mechanical, and product evaluation studies)
Pre-test checklist procedure, daily monitoring, post-test tear-down procedure
Acquire, analyze, and document data
Must be able interpret data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations for future improvements. For example, plotting data and looking for anomalies
Knowledge of Data Acquisition Systems
The ability to perform device failure analysis if needed
Ability to read prints. Knowledge of GD&T is a plus
Knowledge of measurement methods, such as CMM, comparator, calipers, etc
Perform studies to validate internal measurement systems (Gage R&R, MSA)
Must have working knowledge of basic statistics (mean, sigma, Cp, Cpk, etc.)
Design and develop fixtures
Machining skills based on 2D prints or 3D models.
Support and oversee the build of prototype samples, including developing work instructions, guiding operators, collecting and evaluating in-process data, and making final judgments on product quality prior to shipment to customer
Verify compliance of incoming prototype material prior to assembly builds
Run tests to validate that specifications are met
Conduct designed experiments to understand process variables
Experience with welding, electrical testing, calibration, optical assembly, soldering, dispensing, and automated assembly equipment is preferred
Make recommendations to improve manufacture of new and existing products
Experience / Qualifications
Two-year Associates Degree in a technical discipline strongly preferred with 3-6 years’ experience
Ability to read and follow technical documentation, schematics, standards, and procedures
Ability to analyze data to make data-driven observations and recommendations
Working knowledge of simple hand tools (drills, wrenches), basic mechanical measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers) and basic electrical equipment (multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, etc)
Experience in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical test systems
Demonstrated knowledge of general safety practices and maintaining a safe workspace
Proactive attitude and clearly capable of setting priorities.
Effective time management skills and demonstrated strong attention to detail
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Willingness to assist others and, when needed, to request assistance from others. Many of our projects are high priority and have short lead times

An understanding of fundamental physical concepts, including torque, pressure, temperature, force, and electricity
Experience with measurement and inspection equipment

Familiarity with basic machining operations (drilling, milling) and machining skills based on 2D prints or 3D models a plus.
Experience with welding, electrical testing, calibration, optical assembly, soldering, dispensing, and automated assembly equipment is preferred
Familiarity with Minitab, and knowledge of 3D modeling software SolidWorks a plus
Familiarity with principles of data acquisition/processing software such as LabView, Visual Basic, MATLAB or similar
Basic knowledge of electro-magnetics and experience with electric motors and control systems a plus
