Sensata Technologies, Inc. Design Drafter in Aguascalientes, Mexico
The Design Drafter position entails sketching the layout with proper measurements and standards for products. These products will be reviewed by upper management and potentially created by working with engineers.
Participate in auditing the drawings for the correct recording of standards and measurements
Coordinate the revision of drawings and documents
Assist with analyzing information of the product and component subject to possible technical imperfections
Contribute input to the design engineers regarding the design
Maintaining contact with the international suppliers of components throughout the design process on the design and technical possibilities of modifications
Maintaining contact with local suppliers in the concept phase on technical details of mechanical parts (for making prototypes)
Maintain communication with design engineers, test engineers and internal divisions of the company
Experience / Qualifications
A university degree and 0-2 years of experience (i.e. Bachelors degree)
Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
The Mechanical Design Drafter (Drafter) will be responsible for drafting, CAD, PDM, ECO processing, and documentation control activity in support of sustaining engineering, derivative design, and new product design of various sensing and control products.
The Drafter will primarily interface with local Design and/or Product Engineers in support of product design documentation such as CAD models, drawings, and related ECO deliverables. The Drafter will be expected to transform Design Engineering inputs into detailed design models and drawings while applying standards and best practices for GD&T, CAD/PDM/PLM, and ECO.

create and maintain CAD drawings, models, and engineering specifications in accordance with industry standards, generally accepted drafting principles, and established best practices.
support MCAD and PDM excellence and robust documentation sets.
demonstrate long-term potential to develop product-specific design skills.
process Engineering Change Orders (ECO) per quality and delivery expectations.
process all documentation changes in adherence to company and department policy, standards, best practices, and quality expectations.
collaborate with Bill-Of-Material (BOM) and Document Control specialists to facilitate ECO processing.
collaborate with peers at other sites, especially the Attleboro Business Center Design-Drafting and Document Control team.
multi-task and work with engineers and designers to manage priorities.
