Sensata Technologies, Inc. Lean/Continuous Improvement Manager in Thousand Oaks, California

The Lean/Continuous Improvement Manager will be responsible for deploying Lean Manufacturing Methodology and implementing the culture of continuous improvement to improve overall safety, quality, on-time delivery, and productivity of the site.

  • Conduct and Lead plant wide Kaizen events for both production and office / transactional processes

  • Build relationships with operation business unit and function department leaders to understand business objectives and priorities, and develop process improvement initiatives collaboratively.

  • Establish and lead a team in the identification, design, and delivery of process improvement initiatives.

  • Be responsible for maintaining projects on time and budget, reporting on progress, managing expectations and risk, and ensuring post-implementation benefits are measured.

  • Use of good project management to manage team activities to achieve and measure the results.

  • Must be a results oriented change agent who is an effective business systems thinker.

  • Act as a catalyst for the sharing and implementation of best practices across all business units.

  • Communicate / train Lean Manufacturing approaches to the teams with the intent of propagating and defect analysis philosophy.

  • Establish the KPI system of key processes, and monitor their status of attainment.

  • Assist operations team to improve operational excellence.

  • Participating in company led projects and internal audit.

  • Working with operations team to resolve technical issues promptly.

  • Develop Lean Manufacturing training material and promote the application of Lean methodologies within the whole operations.


  • Bachelor’s degree or above, majoring in Engineering preferred. Must have strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing tools and Methodologies

  • Must have experience implementing Lean tools in a high-mix , low-volume manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in conducting high pace Kaizen events

  • Experience in successfully developing and managing plant wide lean transformation plan and implementation roadmap.

  • More than 5 Years of related working experience in the field of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous improvement in a high-technology environment.

  • Proven leadership and facilitation experience in driving improvement program initiatives to successful outcomes.

  • Good at project definition and management.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with teams.

  • U.S. Citizen or U.S. Naturalized Citizen or U.S. Permanent Residency is required for this position
