Sensata Technologies, Inc. Process Development Engineering Supervisor in Sofia, Bulgaria

This is a great opportunity for progressing your career within the Process Development Engineering Team. Your ‘home’ location will be Sofia. Reporting to the Manufacturing Development Manager you will have responsibility for:

  • Supervise a Process Development team of pressure/high temperature sensors

  • Manage various aspects of Process/Manufacturing development projects, including process prototyping, Design for manufacturing inputs toward product development, process and equipment development/validation/installation, pilot production and SOP transfer activities.

  • Work in project teams on process and equipment development

  • Is co-responsible for progress of the project

  • Stay in contact with customers and suppliers on regular basis

  • Lead, participate or support Six Sigma, continuous improvement or cost reduction projects

  • Prepare management review reports on regular basis about the process development projects


This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to build strong working relationships to successfully co-ordinate the activities of cross-functional teams within a matrix structure

To be considered for this role essentially you should possess:

  • Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Degree

  • 5-10 year experience in the area of Process Engineering /Manufacturing Development

  • Proven ability to manage complex group of projects

  • Project management skills and leadership skills

  • Experience with automotive OEM’s and/or Tier1 suppliers

  • Knowledge/experience about Six Sigma tools, Advanced Quality Planning tools (ea. FMEA, Control plans, Problem solving and DOE’s).

  • Excellent English language skills, German is considered a plus

  • Flexible for international travels to vendor and customer locations and Sensata make sites and business centers.

Other criteria which would be of benefit include:

  • Pursuing a relevant Professional Development programme

  • Experience with relevant product industrialisation

  • Financial Acuity/Experience of calculating manufacturing costs

  • Experience of Work Cell/Production Line Concept Development
