Process Engineer in Hengelo/Olen

What are you going to do?

Within the Europe Process Engineering team in Hengelo we are looking to new colleagues. The Process Engineering team is responsible for process development and associated equipment ensuring ‘in time’ availability of the production line in our production sites.

Due to fast growth in our High Temperature Sensor product group, we will further expand our Process Engineering team (mainly located in Sofia) with a Process Development Engineer. You will closely working with the Design Engineering group in Olen, Sofia and Hengelo. Your main work location will be Hengelo or Olen.

Also within our Process Engineering team of High Pressure/Force Sensors we will expand our Process Engineering team Hengelo.

What are your tasks and responsibilities?

  • You will develop new production processes and/or adapt existing production processes for the assembly, calibration and testing of automotive sensors.

  • You will define specifications for production equipment and interact with equipment suppliers to ensure equipment will meet specifications.

  • You will optimize and solve problems in existing production processes.

  • You will participate in global NPD project teams to enable successful launch of new products.

  • You will initiate improvement plans for efficiency, capacity, costs, lead time and quality of production.

  • You will keep contact with other departments on process specifications, quality aspects, product specifications and continuity of equipment.

  • In the early product development phase, you will provide inputs and guidelines to the Product Design Engineers to ensure Design for Manufacturability/Assembly of the new products.

What is your background?

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in mechanical engineering or a similar specialization.

  • Experience with process engineering in a high-technology environment.

  • Good understanding principles of Design for Assembly and 6 Sigma tools.

  • Good communication skills, written and verbally in English.

  • Good social skills to initiate and drive activities in various production sites in other countries.

  • Pro-active attitude and clearly capable of setting priorities.

  • Project management skills to lead and participate multidisciplinary, global teams.

  • Prepared to travel and work abroad on a regular basis.
