A Mechanical Engineering Technician will function as Mechanical Engineering Technician for the development of tooling used in the manufacturing and sample line of our products

The manufacturing tooling we build is for the assembly and test of sensors. Our products are used in the automotive, IS and HVOR in applications such as pressure, force, temperature, speed, and position.

The Mechanical Engineering Technician is responsible for the entire process of tooling development, from concept development, prototyping, design, assembly, debugging, qualification and ongoing support. The project scope will range from the duplication of existing tooling for capacity expansion to the development of manufacturing lines for new products.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is capable of independent tooling design and troubleshooting. The position requires working with cross functional engineering teams such as product design, process design, controls design and the equipment manufacturing craft teams.


Primary responsibilities include:

CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT: Work with the Mechanization Engineering (ME) and Process engineering teams to develop manufacturing tooling to meet the product assembly and test requirements. This may include prototype design and assembly to mitigate process risks.

MECHANICAL DESIGN: Provide detail tooling design concept and debugging report. Conduct design reviews with ME to validate the concept. Will be responsible for the selection of all mechanical components and bill of materials.

SUPPORT FOR ASSEMBLY: Support the assembly craft team and update documentation to reflect all corrections and improvements done during fabrication and assembly.

ONGOING SUPPORT: Provide ongoing support to the manufacturing operations to facilitate continuous improvement (Yield & OEE), troubleshooting and feedback lessons learned for future development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 2+ years’ experience in tooling design, machine shop or manufacturing environment preferred

  • Proficiency with SolidWorks CAD software is required.

  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Project)

  • Good Summary & report as projects requested

Skills & Competencies:

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, i.e, riveting, stamping, forming, molding, machining, etc.

  • Experience in mechanical design, build and assembly of equipment and understanding of mechanisms.

  • Familiarity with mechanical components brands and types.

  • Experience/involvement in building and debugging equipment.

  • Good time management skills.

  • Basic English language ability in reading, writing and speaking
