Sensata Technologies, Inc. Director, Operations Finance - Asia in Changzhou, China

The Director of Operations Finance, Asia is a newly created position within Sensata’s Global Operations finance team. The Global Operations finance team provides financial analysis and strategic guidance for the manufacturing, procurement, quality, logistics and supply planning functions. These functions support the entire company through both the Performance Sensing and Sensing Solutions global business units and support well in excess of $3.0B of annual revenue across 13 sites.

This is a high-impact role providing financial leadership and strategic guidance for the Global Operations team within the Asia region. This position will lead all operations finance resources and analytical activities across the 4 manufacturing sites across the China, Malaysia & Korea. In addition, this role will be the primary lead for the consolidation of the annual operating plan, quarterly & monthly forecasts and will be responsible for communicating those results to the executive team and driving key operational responses. Finally, this role will also be heavily engaged with helping to develop and leading the execution of our strategic footprint plans involving production line moves & plant capacity expansions. As such, this position will be a crucial business partner to VP of Operations, Asia and his functional leaders. This position will report directly to the VP of Global Operations Finance and will be located in Sensata’s Changzhou, China business & manufacturing center.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following…

  • Lead all analytical activities and supporting operating mechanisms across 4 manufacturing sites with a combined annual cost output of $800MM generating $1.5B+ in annual sales

  • Provide the VP of Operations, Asia with actionable insights and analysis to define, measure and deliver world-class performance and productivity

  • Partner with Global Operations and Business Unit stakeholders to develop and execute manufacturing footprint strategies that result in improved financial performance

  • Lead the integration of newly acquired businesses into analytical frameworks and operating mechanisms for Global Operations

  • Lead the preparation and consolidation of all presentation materials for the annual operating plan and all forecasting work-streams throughout the fiscal year, in addition to leading the annual standards cost update process for the region

  • Improve visibility to and analytical offerings on $40MM of raw & in-process inventory balance to identify improvement opportunities. Develop operating mechanisms to drive performance to established targets on balance and turns.

  • Identify and lead efforts to make the internal finance processes more efficient, leveraging standardization, systems & tools

  • Lead all talent development and performance management work-streams for the regional operations finance team Desired Skills & Experience

  • Undergraduate degree focus in Finance or Accounting preferred, MBA preferred

  • At least 10 years of experience in finance and/or accounting in a manufacturing setting. Need at least three of the most recent years in a global role within a medium/large operation.

  • Proven ability to develop strong business partnerships, operate in a strategic capacity, lead through influence and drive impact in a cross functional environment

  • Highly effective time management, organization, and prioritization skills. Demonstrated ability to execute across several concurrent, high-exposure deliverables

  • Able to analyze large sets of data to extract key themes to turn them into actionable insights for functional leaders

  • Well-developed written and oral communications skills. Effectively communicates across all levels of management & executive staff

  • Oracle and Hyperion experience preferred

  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel & PowerPoint

  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma & Lean principles

  • English fluency

  • Ability to support a travel schedule of 25%, especially early in role
