Sensata Technologies, Inc. Senior Accountant in Attleboro, Massachusetts

Sensata Technologies is seeking a highly-motivated, dedicated and efficient accounting professional to join its Corporate Accounting team as a senior accountant.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Perform corporate month-end closing activities such as preparing and reviewing reconciliations and journal entries related to various balance sheet accounts including inventory, fixed assets, accrued expenses, and other areas

  • Perform financial analysis of various balance sheet and income statement accounts to support business finance teams as required

  • Analyze and reconcile monthly capital expenditures and PP&E and software roll forwards worldwide and report results to management

  • Prepare and take ownership of monthly inventory and capital expenditures reporting for management reporting

  • Lead standardization of global reconciliation and business processes surrounding inventory and PP&E reconciliations

  • Provide guidance and support to project managers and other business partners. This includes financial information and understanding of policies and procedures

  • Assist in reviewing the accounting for lease and IT service agreements

  • Participate in systems integration of newly acquired businesses and other special projects as necessary

  • Prepare supporting schedules for external auditors for quarterly and year-end audits

  • Assist in preparation of foot notes and supporting schedules for 10K and 10Q SEC filings

  • Support annual US SOX audits

Job requirements are as follows:

  • The ideal candidate should have a BS in Accounting, and a minimum of 3-4 years of progressive experience in a fast-paced corporate accounting department of a large corporation or a public accounting firm.

  • The candidate should be a quick learner, have strong problem solving skills and analytical abilities, and be an independent thinker with a proven ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • The candidate should be able to interact and communicate effectively at all levels across a large organization and with non-US locations, and to interface with and work with multiple disciplines and cultures.

  • The candidate should be detailed and deadline-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with varying priorities.

  • The candidate should have experience with standardizing processes and controls across the organization.

  • The candidate should be able to research accounting guidance and interpret the guidance to apply to various business transactions

  • The candidate should possess advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Experience with inventory and fixed assets accounting systems preferred.

  • Experience with Hyperion and/or Oracle R12 is preferred, but not required.

  • CPA license preferred but not required.
