Sensata Technologies, Inc. Product Marketing Manager in Attleboro, Massachusetts

Sensata Technologies is currently seeking a Product Marketing Manager to provide strategic marketing leadership and Product Management expertise for the Aerospace business. Strong candidate will combine engineering background with technical marketing experience to develop and execute strategic business plans to achieve annual and long term business goals. The Product Marketing Manager must ensure successful definition and introduction of new products, management of existing technologies in the market, and obsolescence and phase-out planning. This individual will be an integral member of our rapidly growing Aerospace group and will collaborate closely with Engineering and Sales departments to ensure new product development programs are executed in accordance with the agreed technical and commercial framework


Responsibilities:

Overall responsibility for developing and maintaining technical and commercial competitive analysis for a product line within Aerospace and in adjacent markets.

  • Commercial responsibility and technical oversight for Sensata product line(s)

  • Assist in developing technical market requirements, functional specifications, competitor analysis and business cases for new products as part of segmental technology roadmap

  • Monitor product margin trends and coordinate efforts to improve profitability

  • Issue and manage product price lists

  • Support bid and proposal activities as appropriate

  • Promote Sensata products at customer meetings, trade shows, conferences and standards committees

  • Support STINT development and track relevant strategic scorecard metrics

  • Ensure full adoption of Sales Force Dot Com tools and processes

  • Ensure adherence to Sensata policies and processes where applicable

  • Work with customers, sales and applications teams to understand current and future product/service needs

  • Assist in creating procedures and requirements for product launch and delivery

  • Review product specific literature such as datasheets and user manuals

  • Define marketing and communication needs and support the creation of marketing collateral, product training guides and sales support tools

  • Utilize engineering and technical marketing expertise while working with cross-functional global teams

  • Develop growth orientated business plans to identify new market opportunities and product applications to expand our market share position

  • Maintain and grow established accounts by strengthening existing customer relationships

  • Leverage current portfolio of products and services to expand into adjacent market spaces.

  • Provide guidance to Forecasting Manager to develop Annual, Quarterly and Long Range revenue plans.

  • Participate in evaluation process and due diligence of potential acquisition or business partnering activities Minimum requirements include:

  • BS in Engineering and/or an applied science.

  • Minimum five years’ experience in a management position (aerospace market preferred).

  • At least five years’ experience in the development of sensing and condition monitoring products in a commercial environment

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work within a matrix organization creating alignment across multidisciplinary functional lines

  • Effective communication and organizational skills, flexibility, adaptability, common sense and strong commercial and business understanding.

  • Strong skills in multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple deliverables and distractions.

  • Project a very professional demeanor and attitude at all times.

  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and a sense of urgency.

  • Effective communication and organizational skills, flexibility, adaptability, common sense, patience and strong service orientation are essential.

  • MS Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and database management tools proficiency required
