What are we doing?

Sensata is looking for an Area Sales Manager Control Solutions to provide leadership, management and vision in our industry. You will be responsible for managing existing accounts and driving business development to achieve growth, profitability and market share objectives. You will be responsible for some of our largest key accounts in Europe. In this role you will be granted high feasibility within the organization. What are you going to do?

Our Sales department is the key interface to customers and prospects. In the position of Area Sales Manager you are maintaining existing business and supporting customers in growth, technical and commercial support. You are also responsible for opening new accounts at prospects, identifying the product need and closing the business. You will have frequent interactions with our global teams all over the world. You will be located in a Home Office or in our European Business Center in The Netherlands (Hengelo).

What are your tasks and responsibilities?

  • You work closely with customers/prospects to identify applications and win New Business Opportunities. You will liaising with marketing and engineering colleagues within the total supply chain.

  • You identify, assess and close New Business Opportunities.

  • You build and expand relationships with existing and potential customers and seek to “design in” the company’s current and future technology to customer’s future products.

  • You communicate pro-actively Sensata Technologies strategies and tactics to the customer and manage customer expectations.

  • You give feedback of market requirements & competitor activities to the marketing department and product groups.

  • You are responsible for the commercial negotiations (e.g. value proposition) and technical communication with the customers. In addition the management of contract enforcement for example implementation of long term price agreements.

  • You act as a global team-leader of cross-functional key account management teams within the Sensata Technologies organization.

What is your background?

  • A Bachelors or Master’s Degree level in Engineering (ideally mechanical/electrical or electronical, but other technical degrees also welcome), or a Business degree with significant experience in a Technical environment

  • Significant technical sales experience and/or account management experience with demonstrated success leading growth initiatives and managing teams.

  • Familiarity with power protection products within HVAC, Automotive, Telecom, Datacom, Defense, and or/Industrial applications are a plus.

  • Commercial skills, negotiating skills, customer orientation, presentation skills and understanding for future business potential.

  • English and German are required languages (speaking and writing), any other European language will be a plus.

  • Willing to travel extensively, up to 50% of time.
