The manufacturing equipment and tooling we build is for the assembly and test of sensors and overload protection devices. Our products are used in the automotive and appliance industries in applications such as pressure, force, temperature, speed, position, and overload protection.

The Mechanical Equipment Engineer is responsible for the entire process of equipment design, from concept development, prototyping, quotation, design, debug, installation and ongoing support. The project scope will range from the duplication of existing equipment for capacity expansion to the development of manufacturing lines for new products.

The position requires working with cross functional engineering teams such as product design, process design, controls design and the equipment manufacturing craft teams. The ideal candidate will be someone who is capable of independent design, and one who enjoys a hands on approach throughout the development process.

This role requires occasional travel to our global manufacturing sites and business centers.


PROJECT MANAGEMENT SUPPORT: Responsible for defining project scope, timing and resource requirements. Develop costing for funding procurement, develop detailed schedules, and manage design resources and the overall equipment development process through the installation at the manufacturing facility.

CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT: Work with the Product design and Process engineering teams to develop manufacturing concepts to meet the product assembly and test requirements. This may include prototype development to mitigate process risks.

MECHANICAL DESIGN: Provide accurate written design instructions and manage mechanical designers. Conduct design reviews to validate the concept, design completeness and conformance to standards, manufacturability and cost effectiveness of the design. Will be responsible for the selection of all mechanical components and work with electrical engineers to define control requirements and bill of materials.

SUPPORT FOR ASSEMBLY: Support the assembly craft team and update documentation to reflect all corrections and improvements done during fabrication and assembly.

DEBUG: Work with the controls engineering and build teams to bring the machine to functional condition per the design intent.
